Award in Land-Based Casino Croupier: Three Card Poker

The Land-based Casino Croupier– Three Card Poker will enable the learner to control and run the Three Card Poker game in a real casino environment. The student will control the proper pace of the game, collect and pay bets for customers, open and close tables at the end of a game and inspect casino equipment to be used in games to make sure that they are in proper working condition. Once completing the Land-based Casino Croupier– Three Card Poker the learner will carry out croupier duties on the Three Card Poker table with a land-based casino.

Accreditation and MQF Level 

The Award in Introduction to Casinos and iGaming is a Higher Education programme which consists of 6 ECTS and is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority at level 5 of the Malta and European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.

Entry Requirements

Any work experience is accepted All students must be over 18 years of age. There should be no physical disabilities that preclude the student from carrying out their duties, e.g. arthritis of the fingers or hands, a finger cut off or deformed fingers. We will take into consideration the Malta – Equal Opportunities (Persons with Disability) Act during the admission process.

The duration of this course is 150 hours.

Supervised Placement and Practice Hours: 30 Hours

Teaching, Learning and Assessment Procedures

The mode of teaching consists of practical sessions and lectures. The mode of assessment consists of practical one to one assessments and written examinations.

h) Practical one to one assessment sessions on the Three Card Poker casino game; i) Written test: Fill in the correct answer (25 questions) The final mark is made up of 90% practical one to one assesment exam and 10% theoretic exam. Practical tests will automatically include large amount of theoretical knowledge. Final practical assessment will be performed in the form of mock interview/table test as the ones which prospect croupiers will be expected to attend when applying for casino job.
